Charlene Fleming

Charlene Fleming officially formed KE & Associates in 1997. But she has been a CPA in private practice for over 19 years, doing taxes and accounting. She holds a M.P.Acc (MBA in Accounting) and a BA in finance. Both degrees are from the University of Washington.

Fleming has extensive experience in small businesses, non-profits, self-employment, reconstructing records, recreating payroll taxes, income projections, and system design and implementation. She has investigated and analyzed accounting data to support personal injury claims, divorce settlements, and business valuations. Her industry experience includes real estate, advertising, marketing, non-profits, restaurants, law firms, day-care, retail, consulting, software development, manufacturing and construction.

Aside from saving her clients money, of course, Knutson says the most satisfying and rewarding part of her work is problem-solving. She likes the challenge of getting people out of jams with the various tax agencies. “When people are frantic because they received a letter from the IRS,” Fleming explains, “I calm them down and set about solving the crisis.”

Most of all, Fleming enjoys forging long-term relationships with her clients.

Mark Knutson

Mark Knutson is the director of technical support and development for KE & Associates. He is also a CPA. He holds two master’s degrees from the University of Washington, a straight MBA and an MBA with a concentration in accounting. He received his undergraduate degree in general business from the University of North Dakota.
